BRCC Player Development Program 2022
2021 was a successful season for the club with the 2s earning promotion by right and the 1s finishing high enough in the revised division 4 to be promoted into a revamped division 3 for 2022. This brings with it a new set of challenges, not least of which will be the standard of cricket we are playing at. To better prepare ourselves for these chalenges, the club is launching the Player Development Program, led by Dave Wells and with the support of our new captains.

Welcome back Ridge Bears! 

This season both Saturday XI’s step up a league and we have the opportunity to sharpen the Sunday XI fixture as we re-brand it as our Senior Academy game. 

Building on our Club strengths and with the prospect of a full season in front of us, I am delighted to share with you an outline of the innovative BRCC ‘Ridge Bears’ Senior Player Development Program: 

  • Circa 50 senior players will represent the Ridge Bears in 2022 and form the Senior development squad

  • 10 of our experienced Senior players will lead, mentor, and communicate a POD of 5-6 payers as Ridge Bear Developers

  • Each player will be encouraged to set incremental goals for the coming season (Games, Runs, Wickets)

  • Individual and collective improvement will lift the Club and be celebrated thru the season

  • We will embrace the Juniors coming thru to the Seniors and welcome new players

  • We will be inclusive, support each other, respect our opposition, and fulfil our individual and collective potential!

The program will complement the work of our three great new Captains (Sam, Shaun, Jovan) and the work they will put into practice (nets), pre-match build up, game strategy & de-briefs 

The POD’s for this season are detailed in the table below:

The Ridge Bear Developers will be forming their PODs over the next few weeks as we countdown to Winter nets and then the lead in to the full season.
